PAND Public Policy Toolkit
The Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (PAND) appreciates your interest in grassroots advocacy. It is through this active network of supporters that PAND can promote its mission, vision, and values. To help with this process, the PA Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is pleased to provide a Public Policy Toolkit for Legislative Visits. We hope you find this toolkit helpful in order for us to have a consistent legislative presence throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
This toolkit’s objectives are to provide a resource for training and specific “leave behind” documents for both federal and state legislator’s offices. Portions of this toolkit are excerpted from “How to Communicate with Your Legislator”, a presentation created by Meg Rowe, MS, RD, LDN, FAND along with resources from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Like many things, politics is a dynamic entity. Change is constant. This toolkit is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all active legislative activity or “asks”. Please reach out to the Public Policy Coordinator and/or State Policy Representative as needed or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or difficulties with downloading the toolkit.
Documentation of Legislative Visits
Please document all legislative visits by using the survey monkey link here.
Members and non-members may view and download the toolkit free of charge here.
