Whether you have already finished your holiday shopping (yes, I know a few people that have and no, I am definitely not one of them!) hopefully these seven homemade gift ideas can help you with that list or become a treat you give yourself. (Also, for more ideas, check out these 21 Foodie Gifts that Give Back – a list I compiled a few years ago – all gifts are tied to charities.)

Cooking Light’s Cranberry Lemon Curd
If there’s anyone on your gift list who likes lemon curd, they will adore this. While a tart fruit curd traditionally goes with scones and tea, I’ve spooned it into yogurt, spread it over whole-grain toast and have swirled it into oatmeal – divine!

Vanilla Spice Set

Make homemade vanilla extract, vanilla sugar and vanilla salt in minutes! Here’s my Facebook Live demo on how to make the set.

Rich Hot Cocoa Mix
Not only is this delicious as a cocoa mix, I like to add a spoonful to morning coffee to make a mocha coffee.

Curried Pecans
These are a delicious treat by themselves but equally delicious when tossed into salads, whole grain dishes or paired with tuna salad.

Popcorn Peanut Butter Crunch

Leave this protein and fiber-rich snack out for Santa instead of cookies!

Sweet Ginger Pear and Apple Chips
My dietitian business partner Serena likes to put these into a mason jar and give them as teacher gifts. Here’s her Facebook Live demonstrating how to make them.)

Homemade Whole Wheat Baking Mix
A great swap for Bisquick, you can use this mix for pancakes, waffles, scones, muffins…the list goes on!
